Newport Open


The concept to restart the women’s pro tennis tournament in Newport, RI at the International Tennis Hall of Fame. The last one was held in 1990 and was sponsored by the Virginia Slims tour. This tour was cancelled. The tour is now called the WTA or the Women’s Tennis Association.

 We have the first major of the year in Melbourne.  The Australian Open in January.  The route to Melbourne from the USA is from LAX airport in Los Angeles. 

Paris is the 2nd major in May/June.  London is the 3rd major in June/July.  And New York is the 4th and final major in Aug/Sept. 

The International Tennis Hall of Fame is in Newport, Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, USA.
